Technician (Bathroom/Kitchen Fitter) - Croydon
Purpose of the role:
To work within a local team providing installation & maintenance services in customers’ homes. To provide consistent, service driven satisfaction to a high standard and become industry leading.
Accountabilities:
• Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety are implemented to protect our colleagues, customers and general public.
• Carry out quality installation & remedial work in customers’ homes in a safe and responsible manner
• Support Supervisors & Surveyors by assessing projects and advising on best method to achieve customer delight
• Ensure customer delight by promoting the highest standards of service delivery and workmanship in accordance with Rok standards
• Take ownership of the maintenance of equipment and tools to carry out your role effectively and minimise cost wherever safely possible
• Ensure you act in an appropriate polite and courteous manner at all times with your colleagues and our customers
• Help other technicians carry out maintenance and repair works on other Rok contracts when required
• Maintain receipts for all purchases and forward all relevant paperwork to your local office to allow invoicing to be completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Report regularly on the progress of work being undertaken and be able to spot and report any issues to enable the job to finish to schedule and to the customers’ delight
• Adhere to stated company policies and procedures and carry out all duties in a way which is consistent with and which promotes Rok values and our Operational Excellence model
• Learn the scope and demands of the Supervisor & Surveyor roles and be able to assist as required
• Be flexible regarding working hours to meet customer needs. Some home visits before and after the working day plus occasional Saturday mornings will be necessary. Time off in lieu on subsequent days in
liaison with operational needs will be granted
Experience Required:
• Experience in either domestic kitchen or bathroom installations
• Experience of working in customer’s homes
• Working within a team environment
• Good understanding of Customer Service Levels and Key Performance Indicators
• Ability to inspect works and prepare an installation method
Skills Required:
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously and to a high level of accuracy
• Trade skills relevant to home improvements or property maintenance
• Passion for customer service
• Good communication skills, friendly personality and considerate
• A desire to make a positive change to everyone’s working environment
• Ability to complete job sheets and other paperwork relevant to the role
• Flexibility and receptiveness to change
• Pride in their workmanship
• Be well organised, able to plan and share work with fellow team members
Location: Croydon base, mobile across South London area
